Why the rose?
This aromatic flower stepped in among beauty ingredients back in the distant past. The ancient Greeks used the petals to perfume their baths, and the Egyptians boiled roses to create balms rich in healing properties. Rose distillates have been used since the earliest times in cosmetics, medicine and therapeutic treatments. In the late 1800s, the rose entered wider beauty circles — rose-infused perfumes, lotions, soaps and creams became available, and it has stayed that way to this day.
We all recognize the calming, powdery scent of the rose, but what can this modest flower do for our skin?
